At the Seed of Life Essene Temple, we are dedicated to walking the original Christian Way exactly as it was meant to be lived—free from institutional gatekeeping, financial manipulation, and human gurus. Following the timeless wisdom of true spiritual recovery, the only requirement for foundational fellowship here is a sincere desire to walk this path.

At Seed of Life Essene Temple, we are dedicated to preserving and practicing the authentic, historical, and peaceful spiritual tradition of the original Christian Way. As interest in the Essene lineage grows globally, we feel a deep responsibility to clearly define our spiritual foundations and protect the spiritual sovereignty of all seekers who enter our sanctuary.
To maintain the purity, transparency, and safety of our community, we adhere strictly to the following core standards:
- Desire-Based Fellowship
Following the timeless wisdom of true spiritual recovery, the only requirement for foundational membership at Seed of Life is a sincere desire to walk the original Christian Way. We believe that basic belonging is a free gift of grace. We reject the practice of paywalls and gatekeeping community membership behind mandatory book purchases, paid classes, or multi-tiered corporate tracking. While spiritual leadership paths naturally require certain reading, rigorous devotion and testing, the door to our general fellowship is always open to anyone with a sincere heart. In keeping with the genuine, sincere spirit of the Essene lineage, our foundational spiritual literature is available for free in our Reading Room and open to all interested visitors. And it is our ultimate intention to create a vast online library of all the appropriate literature we have available for free. - Verifiable Foundations
Our core scriptural teachings are anchored exclusively in the public, universally accessible canonical and historical record. We rely on the “red letter” gospel words of Yashua Hamashiach, Torah and Old Testament references (as accepted by the assumed Essene Dead Sea Scroll community at Qumran) and specifically the lifestyle commands of Genesis 1:29, as well as historical documentation regarding the ancient Essenes and early Christian Way. We rejoice in modern archaeological discoveries—most notably the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Gnostic texts found at the Nag Hammadi library—as well as other early texts that amplify and resonate with Biblical scripture. We draw a firm distinction between publicly “verifiable” ancient records and newer “unverified” private writings. We draw a distinction between paths that insist that all other forms of scripture are incorrect and a Way that respects truthes from many paths. Alongside canonical foundations, we honor and read from modern works of deep integrity that map out the Essene lifestyle, instruction and living-food wisdom. - Open and Transparent Community
True Christian Essene living is outward-facing, collaborative, and practical. We honor the “Living Water” body temple through terrain theory, sobriety support, permaculture, animal stewardship, and holistic wellness. We explicitly warn seekers against high-control, isolationist groups that cast aspersions on canonical scripture, demand separation from family, enforce psychological control, or attempt to manipulate members’ lifestyles. In fact, we advocate co-membership and encourage members to participate and study with us and also join a local bible-based Christian or other fellowships that offer traditional services and provide extended spiritual community. - Direct Sovereign Connection to Christ (sans gurus)
We operate firmly as a Free Church. We believe that every individual has a direct, unmediated relationship with the Creator. We honor devout teachers of the Way, yet we do not recognize self-appointed modern high priests, spiritual surrogates, or insular groups that seek to insert a human leader or proprietary training between a believer and the Divine. Our temple rejects the modern “guru-disciple” model. Yashua alone is our “guru!”
Our Spiritual Heritage: Pre-Christian Essene Nazarean
We do not identify with modern institutional religion or the dogmas of later Roman theology. Instead, we identify our temple heritage as Pre-Christian Essene Nazarean.
- The Path of Yashua:
We believe that Yashua Hamashiach (Jesus) was a product and teacher of this ancient, pre-existing Essene-Nazarean way of life. He did not intend to create a “new” religion, but to revitilize His existing faith. We rely on his original “red letter” teachings and Old Testament references to corroborate this belief. We trace our heritage to the ancient, pre-Christian ascetic sanctuary of Mount Carmel. Centuries before the common era, this sacred mountain range hosted a community of devout (primarily Jewish) seekers—admired even by ancient philosophers like Pythagoras for their absolute commitment to simplicity, purity, and creation-focused living. - Ancient Textual Resonance:
In addition to canonical scripture, we look to modern archaeological discoveries that expose the rich, suppressed, pre-institutional root system of this ancient Way, directly resonating with the lifestyle we live today. - The Issue with Saul-Paul. We do not recognize the full authenticity of Saul-Paul’s epistles, nor his self-proclaimed apostleship. We believe that as a Talmudic pharisee of pharisees Saul-Paul earnestly believed he was ordained by G*D on his mission of diluting the Essene-Nazarene Way, working against the vegetarian apostles and writing words antithetical to the teachings of Yashua. At the same time, Saul-Paul provides a nugget of clear wisdom, as in Romans 8:28.
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
Had Saul-Paul not fought so hard to take down the Way from within and create the Paulinistic Christianity now in common practice, the ENTIRE Way movement including the New Testament Gospels, the writings of Peter, James and John, and even the Gnostic texts may have been lost forever in obscurity to the dustbin of time. So G*D bless Saul-Paul.
