Retreat Focus

Emotional Sobriety: focused on the 12 steps of AA as well as the ACA Program. With Emotional Sobriety, we live with feelings, spirituality, and our true identity. We experience the 12 Promises and at long last, we understand what it feels like to live “happy, joyous and free.”

So Who Should Come?

Anyone whose actions and decisions as an adult are guided by childhood experiences grounded in self-doubt or fear.  (Pg. 302 of ACA Fellowship text)

• Do I fear authority figures and angry people?
• Do I see forms of criticism as a personal attack?
• Do I have difficulty identifying feelings?
• Do I involve myself in the problems of others?
• Do I feel more alive when there is a crisis?
• Do I judge myself without mercy and guess at what is normal?
• Do I recall anyone at my home drinking or taking drugs or being involved in some other behavior that I now believe was dysfunctional?
• Did one of my parents make excuses for the other parent’s drinking or other behaviors?
• As an adult, do I feel immature? Do I feel like I am a child iinside.

As part of sobriety and healing we learn to alter relationships that have been potentially triggering and challenge our recovery. We begin to feel connected, both to ourselves and to others. We know we have something to offer and we bring our True Selves to our relationships.

Location & Lodging

This is at the Seed of Life Essene Temple –> which is under construction. This is BYO tent primitive camping.

We will gather at the shipping containers. There is heat, but no air conditioning. CURRENTLY The restroom facilities are “off grid” and primitive.
